After much anticipation, Prime Video has released Mirzapur trailer today. Starring Pankaj Tripathi, Ali Fazal, Vikrant Massey and more, the web television series is set for a release next month on Amazon Prime Video.
Mirzapur is a saga of power achieved through fear. As Pankaj Tripathi’s Kaleen Bhaiya says in the trailer, fear can go away any time, it cleverly portrays the same on the trailer. Loyalties change any time and the guns start blazing in a heartbeat.
Mirzapur’s casting looks quite strong with names like Shweta Tripathi, Rasika Dugal, Divyendu Sharma, Shriya Pilgaonkar, and Harshita Gaur along with Tripathi, Fazal and Massey.
The show is produced by Prime Video in collaboration with Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani‘s Excel Entertainment who have created movies like Rock On, Talaash, Raees and more. The series is created by Bangistan and Inside Edge writers, Karan Anshuman and Puneet Krishna. Karan Anshuman also shares director duties with Gurmmeet Singh and Mihir Desai.
With this new web tv series, Prime Video expands their original Indian content portfolio. Mirzapur starts streaming from 16 November on Prime Video. The show’s release coincides with Netflix’s much anticipated 4th season of Narcos: Mexico, so it would be interesting to see how this show does against these heavy hitters.
