Henry Cavill to play Geralt of Rivia for Netflix’s The Witcher Series

DCEU’s Superman is set to transform into a supernatural monster-hunter from the world of the Witcher

Netflix finally announced the lead actor in their series adaptation of The Witcher. Confirming the rumours, it is indeed Henry Cavill who will be playing the role of Geralt.

The Witcher is Polish author Andrzej Sapkowski’s fantasy series, well-known for CD Projekt‘s video game adaptation. Famous among the fans of the video game, the protagonist, Geralt of Rivia is a monster-hunter who possesses supernatural abilities.

The rumours of Henry Cavill being cast as The Witcher’s Geralt were at the peak when he shared the visual art from famous illustrator, Bosslogic. The portrayal of Cavill as Geralt was so accurate, that it was hard not to believe. Executive producers Sean Daniel and Jason Brown said of the series: “The Witcher stories follow an unconventional family that comes together to fight for truth in a dangerous world. The characters are original, funny and constantly surprising and we can’t wait to bring them to life at Netflix, the perfect home for innovative storytelling.”
